Dear Professor Máro,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who cared for me during my preparation for surgery to remove my fibroids in October 2023. Thank you to everyone who carefully and painstakingly operated on me, as well as to everyone else who cared for me in the ICU and subsequently in the G4 post-operative ward. I greatly appreciate your kind, professional, and above all, humane approach.

Preparing for the operation was a relatively long process for me, which was mainly mentally demanding. The nurses, doctors, and everyone else supported me throughout. Just before the procedure, I was no longer afraid. The atmosphere in the operating room (as long as I could perceive it) was absolutely wonderful, calm, and friendly. I felt safe.

It helped me a lot to know that you would be performing the procedure. We had agreed on this, and I trusted you, but seeing you with my own eyes was still reassuring. I know there were other doctors there whose names I did not remember. Thank you all very much.

I appreciate that you tried to remove the fibroids laparoscopically, and thank you for ultimately deciding to make an incision and remove all the fibroids, which I had no idea about. It must have been a difficult procedure for all of you. And when I consider how many operations you perform, over and over again, like on an assembly line, I take my hat off to you all. I am amazed at how wonderful you are 🙂

The care in the ICU was also absolutely perfect, and I am grateful to the nurses for getting me back on my feet so quickly. I would especially like to thank Pavlína Paličková, who was like an angel to me as she helped me wake up after the operation and then prepared me for transfer to G4 on Saturday. Her kindness, optimism, and dedication were a great source of emotional support for me. A nice touch were the name tags with pictures of flowers. I took a photo of mine as a souvenir 🙂

I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for making me feel safe and cared for even in a state of helplessness and absolute vulnerability.
