Guide before conization (LEEP)
What to expect and how to prepare:
If you have received a referral from your gynecologist for a conization, the information below will help you better understand the process before, during, and after the procedure.
1. Scheduling an appointment:
Call +420 224 967 480 or +420 224 967 481 to arrange the date of your visit.
2. First visit:
Arrive on the scheduled date for an examination, during which you will be evaluated by our doctor. If the procedure is needed, you can immediately schedule a date.
During the visit, you will receive all information about the procedure, the necessary documents, and answers to any questions you may have.
3. Preoperative examination:
Once you know the date of your conization, make an appointment with your general practitioner for a preoperative examination, which is required before the procedure.
4. Day of the procedure:
Arrive at 10:00 AM at the records desk of the General Clinic (ground floor, right), where admission will take place. After admission, the nurse will inform you about the procedure and what to expect.
5. Procedure and discharge:
Procedures are performed around noon. If everything goes without complications, you can be discharged after 4 hours. However, you cannot leave the department alone, so please arrange for someone to accompany you. You should also not drive a vehicle on the day of the procedure.
