A fairy tale with a happy ending
I am a “strong 70s” person, apart from four births, I have never been in a hospital. But what the hell, a large myoma grew very quickly in my uterus and surgery was necessary. With a wave of a wand, I found myself on January 11, 2023, with the vision of a laparoscopic surgery in a fairy-tale castle near Apolinář with a view of a cat family in the garden. So comforting! The nurses and doctors were very kind, helpful, understanding and accommodating. And so it was throughout my hospitalization. On Thursday, January 12, D-day came and I, in elegant stockings and a shirt with four-leaf clovers, was taken by a “hospital limousine” through the historic premises for surgery. Here, dazed by a magic potion injected into my vein, I still managed to map out how everyone was oscillating and preparing the room to eliminate the “dragon” from my belly… And I fell asleep like a baby. Decorated with four butterflies on my stomach, I woke up in the “heaven” of the ICU. Angels in nurse’s uniforms flew from one patient to another, caring kindly. They resolved my nausea before I even realized it. Unbelievable!
On Friday, January 13, I returned to G4 with a “Chanel handbag” (a drain protruding from one of the sutures) and was put on a dairy-free diet called BMV. Pure luxury! The nurses’ exemplary care continued here as well. On the morning of January 14, I handed the “handbag” over to the nurses (the only painful moment for me), humbly returned to my crocheted bag, put the discharge note in it, and headed home. I still feel like it was just a dream. I will never forget my three-day fairy tale with only positive heroes, including the “knight” – Professor Mára, who held a protective hand over me from beginning to end! I want to thank the nurses and doctors very much for the professional care and love with which they do their job.
Thank you!
