I had repeated miscarriages, complications during pregnancy and childbirth.
Have you had an unsuccessful pregnancy? Would you like advice on how to proceed when planning your next pregnancy?
PRECONCEPTION COUNSELING IS NOT AVAILABLE DURING THE SUMMER. WE ASK WOMEN WHO ARE INTERESTED IN OUR COUNSELING SERVICES TO FILL OUT THE CONTACT FORM IN SEPTEMBER, AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU WITH AN APPOINTMENT DATE.
At present, our preconception clinic offers care, among other things, to women with severe forms of recurrent pregnancy loss, preterm birth before the 34th week, and a history of stillbirth.
In the case of miscarriage (spontaneous or missed), this concerns women with a history of three or more miscarriages in the first trimester (12+ weeks) or a history of two or more miscarriages, at least one of which occurred in the second trimester (12+ weeks).
We offer immunological testing to such women.
This may or may not reveal a predisposition that significantly increases the likelihood of such pregnancy complications recurring. For women who have had two miscarriages in the first trimester, we do not provide care (and therefore no immunological testing) at the preconception clinic, and we kindly ask them not to contact us for such examinations. Care in this situation should be managed by the general gynecologist, who should recommend ruling out a congenital uterine defect (hysteroscopy/laparoscopy) and thyroid testing.
However, if the attending gynecologist does not offer this, it is possible to contact our clinic with a positive pregnancy test –
tehotenska.ambulance@vfn.cz – preferably on Tuesdays and Thursdays – and we will recommend ensuring the pregnancy with the medications listed below. The condition, however, is that the delivery must be planned in our maternity ward.
