Operační indikace

Indications for oncogynecological surgeries take place every Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. in outpatient offices No. 5–7 on the ground floor, to the right, at the Clinic of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and General University Hospital in Prague.

Contact: It is not necessary to make an appointment to be included in the surgical indication program. However, we would appreciate if the patient notifies us in advance, or if her attending physician arranges it, at the phone numbers +420 224 967 480, +420 224 967 481. The examination is outpatient, and the patient goes home the same day.

What to bring:

  • hospital discharge summary (epicrisis) or a brief summary of the current illness / difficulties
  • completed preoperative examination <referral>,
  • results of available imaging examinations (for imaging examinations: report + sending CT / MRI / PET scans to PACS at VFN),
  • full histology report,
  • in case of serious comorbidities (associated diseases) statements from specialists (for example from a cardiologist, pulmonologist, diabetologist, psychiatrist).

What to expect:

During the indication examination, there will be a consultation with an oncogynecologist, usually supplemented with an expert ultrasound examination. In case of a decision that surgery is necessary, on the same day there will be a consultation with an anesthesiologist, internist (therefore it is necessary to bring completed preoperative examinations already to the consultation), with a clinical psychologist, and a nutrition specialist. Preparation of hospitalization documentation and informed consents is also included.

Therefore, it is necessary to take into account that the indication consultation may take several hours. We recommend that patients do not come fasting and bring food and drink with them.
