Neonatology
Our neonatal department with JIRP is one of the few facilities in the Czech Republic that provides highly specialized care to newborns born in the so-called gray zone of prematurity, i.e., extremely premature babies born between 22 and 24 weeks of pregnancy. We always begin caring for these newborns after birth with the consent of their parents.
We also provide intensive care to newborns born after prolonged premature rupture of membranes. These newborns are usually born with respiratory disorders and require highly specialized treatment (high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, circulatory support, etc.), which our department provides in full.
We also provide special care to newborns with severe lung failure, which must be treated with unconventional methods of artificial lung ventilation. We also accept such newborns from other perinatal centers throughout the Czech Republic.

We use state-of-the-art ventilation support techniques and unconventional methods of artificial lung ventilation, such as HFJV and NAVA.
We have a program for the prevention of acquired cytomegalovirus infection through the implementation of a new, so-called shock-ultra-fast VIREX pasteurizer. The milk of CMV-positive mothers is treated to eliminate the risk of CMV infection in the child through breast milk, while preserving its unique immunological properties.
