New method helps save premature babies

Did you know that 23 babies are born prematurely every day in the Czech Republic? And that even though the birth rate is declining in our country, the percentage of premature babies remains the same?
At the Clinic of Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Neonatology of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General University Hospital (at Apolinář), we care for 20 to 30 extremely premature babies (born between 22 and 24 weeks of pregnancy) every year, and the survival rate has already risen to approximately 85%.
Our neonatologists are also assisted by a custom-made resuscitation bed, which allows them to stabilize newborns on an uninterrupted umbilical cord. It was donated to us by the association. Aponedo. Thank you very much.
