How to protect yourself from cervical cancer?
Prevention is absolutely essential
Did you know that cervical cancer is the ONLY malignant disease that can be vaccinated against and, in the vast majority of cases, effectively prevented?
- Did you know that even though the incidence of this cancer has been declining over the past 15 years, around 300 women still die unnecessarily every year in the Czech Republic?
- And did you know that adolescent girls and boys have the greatest chance of benefiting from vaccination, ideally before they become sexually active?
- Currently, vaccination is free for ages 13 to 14, and from January 1, 2024, it will be free for ages 11 to 14.
Everything you need to know about the possibilities of preventing this cancer is summarized in the videos below by the head of our clinic, Prof. David Cibula, and the head of the gynecological oncology center, Prof. Jiří Sláma.
Take the time for prevention—it’s a matter of life and death.
