One less thing to worry about. Births at Apolin\u00e1\u0159 Hospital no longer require registration.<\/h3>\r\n

The Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Neonatology at the General University Hospital and First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague has abolished mandatory registration for childbirth. Any pregnant woman who wishes to give birth at the U Apolin\u00e1\u0159e maternity hospital now only needs to visit the prenatal clinic, where everything necessary will be arranged during the initial consultation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pregnant women with a planned delivery date in 2024 can take advantage of unregistered births. “We expect mothers who have a date in 2023 listed on their pregnancy card to register during June 2023. We will gradually transition to the new rules at the beginning of July 2023. With this step, we are trying to simplify and open up prenatal care to all pregnant women who would like to give birth at the U Apolin\u00e1\u0159e maternity hospital,”<\/em> explains the head of the clinic’s perinatal center, Doc. MUDr. Michal Kouck\u00fd, Ph.D. The maternity hospital recommends the first visit at 20 weeks of pregnancy, but pregnant women can visit the pregnancy clinic earlier. “During the consultation at the clinic, we will compile a family medical history and present the expectant mother with a wide range of maternity care options at our maternity hospital. We are able to accommodate most pregnant women. In the case of low-risk pregnancies, women can give birth in our Birth Center only in the presence of a midwife. In the case of complicated pregnancies, our specialists in the high-risk department will take care of them,”<\/em> concludes the head of the Apolin\u00e1\u0159 maternity hospital.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n <\/section>\r\n \n\n \r\n
